How It Works

Step 1: Control Commander A on the battlefield.

Step 2: Activate Homeward Path's second ability by paying , giving control of Commander A to target opponent until end of turn.

Step 3: Cast Council's Judgment by paying .

Step 4: During the vote for Council's Judgment, vote for Commander A. Other players can also vote for it or other permanents.

Step 5: Council's Judgment resolves, exiling Commander A (and any other permanents that received the most or tied for the most votes).

Step 6: You can now cast Commander A from the command zone, paying plus the commander tax.

Step 7: Result/Win condition: You have reset your commander's status, removing any counters or enchantments, and can recast it from the command zone at its base cost plus tax. You also removed at least one opponent's nonland permanent.

Prerequisites

  • Council's Judgment in hand.

  • Homeward Path on the battlefield and untapped.

  • Your commander on the battlefield.

  • Enough mana to cast Council's Judgment and Commander A from the command zone.
